Food dyes

Whatever form the dye is in – liquid, powder, tab or pen –

egg dyes are subject to the same statutory requirements as food. This means that they can only contain ingredients that are also approved for food. In addition, egg dyes are subject to constant checks from food monitoring authorities. So it doesn't matter if some dye gets into the inside of the egg when you are dyeing the shell. The dyed egg yolk is perfectly safe to eat.
